Paris Day 3 – Last day in the magical city of Paris!

As my Parisian adventure drew to a close, a bittersweet anticipation filled the air. While i was very much eager to return home, I was determined to make the most of my final day exploring the city. Paris, despite its often-maligned reputation, had surprised me with its charm and vibrancy. It’s clear that where you stay and the time of year can significantly impact your experience.

My day began with a journey to the sprawling Westfield shopping centre at Les Défense. While its sheer size was impressive, I found myself craving a quiet space to relax amidst the bustling city.

The challenge of finding a tranquil spot without spending a fortune became apparent.

To escape the urban energy, I ventured to the opulent Palace of Versailles. The grandeur of the palace was beyond imagination. Its sheer scale and opulence were breathtaking. Unfortunately, the scorching 32-degree heat prevented me from exploring the expansive gardens, a must-do for another visit. While the palace itself is undoubtedly impressive, I couldn’t shake the feeling that it lacked depth. It felt more like a vast gallery than an immersive historical experience. For those seeking a deeper understanding of the palace’s history, investing in a guided tour is highly recommended.

Later, I immersed myself in the lively atmosphere of Montmartre. The raw talent of the street artists was mesmerizing, and the iconic Sacré-Cœur basilica offered stunning panoramic views of the city. However, finding a peaceful spot to unwind proved challenging once again.

As the day drew to a close, I retreated to my hostel’s rooftop terrace. A delicious burger, refreshing ice cream, and a captivating book provided the perfect escape. The People’s Nation Paris hostel has been a delightful home base, offering stunning views and a tranquil atmosphere.
With mixed emotions, I prepared to bid farewell to Paris. This city has a unique ability to enchant and frustrate in equal measure. It’s a place that rewards exploration and patience. While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, I encourage travellers to give it a chance. You might just discover a hidden gem that steals your heart.
