Back in 2019, I purchased the Eurohike Avon 3 DLX Tent, the model just before the ‘nightfall’ edition. Having tested several tents over the years, I can confidently say this one stands out. It’s compact, yet it’s the best small tent I’ve ever used. Despite its size, it’s reliable and perfect for any camping adventure.
This tent has a very small footprint, making it ideal for carrying around or pitching in smaller areas. Although it looks compact on the outside, the interior is cleverly designed to maximize space.
As a 3-man dome tent, it can easily be set up by one person in about 10-15 minutes in good weather. With two people, it takes just 5-10 minutes—it’s that simple! I recommend buying an extra pair of tent pegs, as they tend to bend easily. Thicker plastic pegs are more durable and definitely last longer.

I’ve used this tent numerous times and it’s still holding up well. On a recent trip, I comfortably fit one double air bed and one single air bed inside. It’s amazing how spacious it feels despite its compact exterior. However, I wouldn’t recommend this tent for extreme or mountain camping, as I haven’t tested it under those conditions. I did experience some pole flexing in strong wind, which makes me cautious about using it in more exposed environments like mountainsides.
For casual camping or festivals though, this tent is absolutely perfect! There’s even enough room for two people to sit on the floor in the porch area, although it’s not spacious enough for chairs. Ultimately, it’s designed primarily for sleeping.
I bought this tent for £75.00, which was reasonable given its size and features at the time. As of now, it’s priced at £70.00 at GoOutdoors, Millets, and Blacks UK, with the option to choose it in green, which I quite like.
Please note that the current models in 2022 are Nightfall editions, featuring improved interior darkened technology. If you can get one for the same price I paid, it’s truly a bargain!
